Strength of schedule is often accounted for at the start of the NFL season, when handicapping futures and season win totals. Sometimes, bettors forget to check the adjusted sports bet odds when looking at whether a team will be a good or bad bet midway through the year.

Here are two teams that could benefit bettors, thanks to their weak second-half slates, and two teams who may be play-against options due to their tough road ahead.

Easy schedules

Minnesota Vikings (5-0 SU, 5-0 ATS)
The Vikings have continued to play quality football, despite losing their starting QB and RB early in the year. Minnesota is the lone undefeated and doesn’t have too much in the way of resistance down the stretch. The Vikes are in Philadelphia Sunday, and have notable matchups with Arizona and Dallas – both of which are played at home. Outside of that, the dismal shape of the NFC North has Minnesota on the inside track to win the division and top seed in the conference.

New York Jets (1-4 SU, 1-4 ATS)
The Jets are losing altitude heading into a tough Monday night matchup at Arizona in Week 6. New York, which has lost three straight games, needs all the help it can get and that assistance could be coming by way of the schedule. Following the game in Arizona, the Jets play four of their next six at home, including a three-game home stand between Weeks 10 and 13 with a Week 11 bye just before taking on the Patriots. Two games with New England and a season finale versus the Bills are their only real tough tests between Week 7 and Week 17.

Hard schedules

Philadelphia Eagles (3-2 SU, 3-2 ATS)
A 3-0 start had everyone buzzing in Philly, but back-to-back losses and a rough schedule ahead have tempered expectations. The Eagles have a big challenge in Minnesota next Sunday and face the likes of Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle (at CenturyLink Field), Green Bay, and Cincinnati before the middle of December. If there’s anything left of Carson Wentz and the Eagles by then, Philadelphia closes the year with two divisional games at home, hosting the Giants and Cowboys.

Green Bay Packers (3-2 SU, 2-2-1 ATS)
The cheese isn’t the only thing stinking in Wisconsin. The Packers are not used to be among the NFC’s commoners at this point in the season, and after getting run off their home field by Dallas, the Cheeseheads have a steep hill to climb to get back on track. Green Bay has home games versus the Colts, Texans, Seahawks, and Vikings while the road slate takes them to Atlanta, Tennessee, Washington, Philadelphia, Chicago and Detroit. The Packers basically play tough teams at home, and taken on easier foes on enemy territory.
