Two of the nations most famous programs square off on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend in New Orleans. Florida State is bringing their 1-0 record to New Orleans to face off against the LSU Tigers. Both of these teams are coming off of disappointing years, and are hoping that this game kick starts a traditional season for these programs.

Brian Kelly left Notre Dame this off season to take over a program that can win national championships after leading Notre Dame for 15 years and coming up short despite getting a seat at the table a few times.

The Tigers are starting Jaden Daniels at QB, a transfer from Arizona State, but could play a couple different signal callers. The wide receiver room and defensive line are amongst the best units in the country. LSU may not be as well rounded as 2019, but they always have elite NFL talent on the roster. If Kelly can regain control of the program that got wobbly the last couple years they will be right back in the mix.

Mike Norvell is leading Florida State after he has struggled there in his first two years, going 8-13 in his two seasons. They are coming off of a win against Duquesne in week 0 to get warmed up before this match-up. Florida State always has some dudes too, but the recruiting hasn’t been there since Jimbo Fisher left for Texas AM.

If Norvell gets this done, they may be turning the corner. The loser of this game has the potential to have a very very long year.
