2023 AFC North Over/Win Total Predictions | News Article by handicapper911.com

After years of domination by both the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills in recent seasons, the AFC East is shaping out to be the most competitive division in the league.

Being that the Bills have claimed each of the last three division titles, they opened as the favorites to win at 135 odds.

Following the Bills are the new look, New York Jets who opened the year at 250 odds which are their shortest opening odds since the 2010 season. After the Jets, the Miami Dolphins aren’t far back at 280 odds.

In last place, the New England Patriots have 750 odds to win the AFC East which are their longest opening odds since the 2001 season.

Getting into their season win totals, and odds to make the playoffs, the Bills obviously lead the way with the highest win total (10.5) and strongest odds to make the playoffs (-250) of all four teams being that they are the odds on favorite to win the division.

The Jets and Dolphins are knotted with the second-highest win total in the division as they each sit at 9.5 wins, however, the Jets have -145 odds to go over while Miami has standard -110 odds on both sides.

Both are also favored to make the playoffs as well with the Jets sitting at -150 odds and the Dolphins at -120.

The Patriots are going into their season with their lowest regular season win total at 7.5 wins, however, they do have -120 odds to hit the over. They are heavily favored though to miss the playoffs with -300 odds to do so.

Making the AFC East arguably the most competitive that it has ever been is the offseason that each of the teams have had. Buffalo, while they did lose Tremaine Edmunds, they’ve stocked up to replace him with Leonard Floyd and Taylor Rapp and have even added to the offensive end with Connor McGovern and Damien Harris.

The Jets made arguably the biggest offseason move in the league by trading for Aaron Rodgers to be their next franchise quarterback. They’ve also added some other offensive pieces in Dalvin Cook, Allen Lazard, and Mecole Hardman to add on to an already up and coming offensive unit.

Down in Miami, while on paper their roster is star-studded, they still managed to add Jalen Ramsey, David Long, and Braxton Berrios to add even more.

As for New England, while they may sit with the longest odds, some notable names that they were able to snag in the offseason include Juju Smith-Schuster, Ezekiel Elliot, Mike Gesicki, and Trey Flowers.
