Early NBA Championship Favorites One Month Out | News Article by handicapper911.com

The NBA season is just under one month away and now is the best time to get in on the futures odds to win the NBA title before the odds begin to shift as the regular season progresses.

Right at the top of the odds board, there is a three-team race right now with the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, and Los Angeles Clippers all sitting with 600 odds which are the shortest in the league.

Starting with the Celtics, while they had one of the most impressive offseasons of any team in the league adding guys such as Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari, they are going through some craziness at their head coaching spot right now.

Head coach, Ime Udoka, has been suspended for the entire season for misconduct involving female members of the teams staff. Now that leaves assistant coach, Joe Mazzulla taking over on the sidelines.

This does anything but help their odds as just five rookie head coaches in NBA history have been able to lead their teams to an NBA title.

Moving on to the Golden State Warriors, of the three teams that are tied for the shortest odds, they are the ones with the most championship experience. For those that know how the NBA works, more than likely the team with the most championship experience is poised for a long run.

They are returning most of their championship roster and have all the accolades to back up another run. That includes a 54-46-4 record against the spread with a 5.4-point win margin which was the third highest in the league last season.

They were in the top half of the league in scoring (111 ppg.) and also had the third-best defense which allowed just 105.5 ppg to opponents last season. With their loads of success with their current roster, they are never a bad bet to make.

Finishing off with the Los Angeles Clippers, they are finally back to full strength and have a dynamic duo in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George leading the way for them.

They’ve also added a premier veteran point guard in John Wall who is returning after not playing in over a year and will be fresh. The bright spot for this Clippers team came last season as they were a top-10 defense for most of the season letting up 108.4 ppg to opponents and they are returning one of the best defenders in the league in Leonard.
