The Dallas Mavericks will travel northeast to face the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden. The Mavericks have looked good at times this season but lack a lot of depth.
They are sitting at 9-7 and in ninth place in the Western Conference. Conversely, the Celtics are 13-4 and have the best record in the league.
The Celtics lost their last game but were on a nine-game winning streak before that.

The Mavericks lost a 98-97 heartbreaker to the Denver Nuggets in their previous game. The game went down to the wire, and the Mavericks were down by one with 3.7 seconds left.
Luka Doncic had an opportunity to give Dallas the win but missed a buzzer-beater three. Doncic finished with 22 points but went 6-10 from the free-throw line. Josh Green ended up having a great game off the bench and led the Mavericks in scoring with 23 points. Dallas’ real problem was free-thrown.
They had troubles from the line all night long and went 12-21.
The Celtics lost their last game to the Chicago Bulls 121-107. Boston was down by 13 at halftime and could not mount a second-half comeback. Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Malcolm Brogdon scored 23 points or more, but the Celtics were simply outshot.
Boston shot 43.7% overall and 38% from behind the three-point line, while the Bulls shot 51.7% overall and 48.3% from behind the three-point line.
Both teams will likely make the Playoffs, but I have to give Boston the edge. The Celtics have home-court advantage, a more well-rounded roster, and more momentum. Boston lost their last game but was destroying opponents before that.
The Celtics also have an excellent offense and average 119.4 points a game. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown average a combined 55.5 points per game, but Boston has many other players that score when called upon.
This is not the most controversial call. On paper, the Celtics are the best team in the league right now and rarely losing games. They are facing a Mavericks squad that is solid but lacks depth.
Luka Doncic is having an incredible season, but the Dallas bench brings very little to the table, and the Mavericks offense often looks lost without Doncic. Bet on the Celtics’ moneyline.
